(Tungsten Press, 2016)

Published as a limited edition (74 copies) signed pamphlet, printed by Frank Turenhout and Hans Dessens on Zerkall Butten and Zerkall Restauro, Tomboys comprises three colour calligrams in the shape of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Cowboy Bebop’s Radical Edward and Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, all of whom challenge gender roles within their fictions in their own particular way.

The pamphlet was the result of a proposed collaboration with Tungsten Press, publishers of limited edition postcards, broadsides and pamphlets.

related: School of Forgery includes more conventional lyric poems inspired by anime characters. Death Daydream Season is a similar calligraphic sequence.
