Moonrock

by Harry Man

“Each Micromaster Combiner has a standardized post and hole on one end, allowing them to plug into any other Micromaster Combiner in vehicle mode. Of course, you’re only supposed to combine front-end guys with back-end guys… but who can resist the absurdity of creating a flying dump truck or a truck with two cabs?”

Moonrock understands the question of squishy drivers

with not one optical sensor on the freeway.

He interfaces with the transforming energy signatures,

the spark-bound astroseconds, stray muons;

from the littlest sparkling guineapigatron

to the chubbiest Unicronian, planetoid bot,

anybot and everybot is his manifold’s energon.

He likes to stay in shape and tolerates the groons,

blue-eyed battle with the ’cons who never pee,

the shoulder cannon ceasefires for a glitch-pigeon,

to let it preen in the rust of an Autobot’s hub-cap.

All Cybertronians are their alloys, their mech:

he won’t fight to the last crush, or showboat

in alt-mode in Manhattan, losing no secrets ’til now

Moonrock doesn’t understand the rust,

spark-bound, losing ceasefires,

stays in alt-mode on the freeway.

There are only groons, not little groons,

not transforming, Primulian, manifold groons.

He tolerates Cybertronian guineapigatrons.

One last mech gets the question of him now.

He’ll be energon in astroseconds

like the Autobots that preen audial sensors,

fight with civilians over understanding

for anybot and everybot, all sparkling

protoform, cannot handle secret alloys,

Manhattan interfaces, optical glitch-pigeons.

He showboats, signature shoulder crushing

Unicronian energy, blue-eyed stray shaped.

’Cons are no chubby hub-cap medal holders;

they make squishy drivers pee themselves now.
